Fields in Trust
aims to protect parks and green spaces so future generations can enjoy them.
How protection works
A legal agreement between Fields in Trust and the landowner protects a green space forever. The agreement is a legal document called a Minute of Agreement.
It sets out what the landowner can and cannot do with the space. It means the land must stay as a green space permanently. For example, as a public park, playing field or recreation ground.

Our commitment to green spaces
We are working to increase the number of green spaces protected by the Fields in Trust Minutes of Agreement to 61.
This means almost everyone will in the city will live within a 10 minute walk of a park or green space that is protected for good.
We are the first local authority in Scotland with such a vision of its green spaces.
