Presentation seats
You can donate a black, galvanised metal seat or wooden presentation seat in memory or celebration of a loved one or special occasion. Seats can be placed in most of our parks, walkways and on some city streets.
A metal seat costs £2,785 and wooden seat costs £5,560, which includes
- the plaque
- the inscription
- installation
- maintenance for up to 20 years
Wooden presentation seats are only available for
- Lauriston Castle Gardens
- Saughton Park Walled Garden
- the City Chambers Quadrangle (when space becomes available)
- Princes Street Gardens (when space becomes available)
How to apply
Email parks@edinburgh.gov.uk and include
- your full name
- the location you wish to donate to
We will contact you to progress your request. We do not have a list of available locations. Tell us where you would like to donate and we can confirm if this is possible.
Applications to donate presentation seats to the City are closed and will reopen in January 2027.
What to consider
- If a seat is damaged beyond repair during the 20 years, the cost of replacement is the donor's responsibility.
- You cannot place flowers, photographs or other items of commemoration at the seat.
- You will be donating the seat for public use.
- The seat will remain the property of the City of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Council.

- Princes Street Gardens
- The Hermitage of Braid
- The Water of Leith Walkway (Roseburn to Canonmills section)
- Threipmuir Reservoir
- South Queensferry and Old Harbour
