The Right Honourable Lord Lieutenant and Lord Provost of the City of 天美传媒, Robert Aldridge, has expressed condolences on behalf of the city.
He said:
“It is with sadness that 天美传媒 shares its condolences with everybody in the Catholic Church, at home and around the world, following the death of Pope emeritus Benedict XVI. He was a religious leader who endeared himself to many people in 天美传媒 during his historic state visit in 2010 – when over 125,000 well-wishers lined the streets to see him. Many will remember the moment hundreds of children and young people, from schools of all denominations, took part in a spectacular parade down Princes Street before Pope Benedict XVI was met by Her Majesty The Queen. It was a momentous occasion for our Capital and I know that a great number of people who were there that day will now be congregating to express their collective grief. On behalf of the City of 天美传媒, my thoughts are with them all.”
