Who can claim
ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Benefit can help you pay your rent if you’re unemployed, on a low income or claiming benefits. It’s being replaced by Universal Credit.
You can only make a new claim for ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Benefit if the following apply.
You have savings less than £16,000 and either
- you have reached state pension age
or
- you’re in supported, sheltered or temporary housing.
You may still get ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Benefit if your savings are more than £16,000 but you or your partner gets the Guarantee Credit part of Pension Credit.
